Whether it is a relaxing stroll along the foreshore of Caroline Bay, a picturesque round of golf at the nearby St Andrews golf course, or perhaps a touch of culture at the local art galleries, you are spoilt for choice in Timaru. Enjoy the cafes and sea views as you dine on the Bay Hill or wander through the botanical or historic rose gardens.
On our door step within a 1.5hr travelling time or less, we have a range of activities available through selected operators that include such things as: Horse Trekking, Sking, Fishing,Yoga Classes, Hunting Safaris, White water Rafting etc.
Nearby popular tourist areas such as Peel Forest, Geraldine, Pleasant Point and Oamaru all have a range of activities to enjoy including numerous walks, vintage steam train and museum, a vineyard and penguin watching. Aoraki, Mount Cook and the beautiful lakes district including Lake Tekapo and Twizel are easy driving distances and make great day trips for those people wishing to spend a couple of days in this magical region.
Less than 3mins away by car you will find the beach where you can take a leisurely stroll before dinner enjoying the ever changing seascape, the historic railway bridge or rural landscape.
CLIMATE
The Timaru/Aoraki region has four distinct seasons which means warm lakes in summer for swimming & boating and lots of snow - and great skiing in winter.
